ADI and Aucom started the installation of ADI's MX1 at Sentech in South Africa.

Aug 01, 2009

South Africa – Israel

ADI video technologies and its South African partner African Union Communications (Aucom) started the installation of ADI's MX1 Integrated Receiver Decoder Systems at Sentech, the Signal Distributor of South Africa, for the secure distribution via satellite to the remote DTT Transmitter sites.

The MX1 is a professional Integrated Receiver Decoder System, providing high quality MPEG-2 4:2:0MP@ML and 4:2:2P@ML decoding, fully compliant with the DVB and ATSC standards.
The ADI solution was chosen after a long testing period, where the ADI equipment was tested alongside all other well –known vendors.
ADI has shown the best price-performance for this particular project, as Multi Channel Decryption is mandatory for this project, and ADI being the only vendor providing significant MCD power.
“It is a pleasure to work with the professional staff, at both Aucom as well as Sentech”, says Rony Weinfeld, Sales & BD Development Manager of ADI.” Aucom is a valued partner, and we are looking forward to expand our mutual business in this region.”

About Sentech

During the past few years, Sentech has reinvented itself, transforming from the technical and broadcast arm of the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) into a leader in converging communication technologies. Sentech is a State-owned, fully commercial enterprise, and was awarded the Multimedia and Carrier of Carrier licenses in 2002.
Sentech provides the sounds of radio and the pictures of television, and offers internet connectivity from anywhere, connecting customers to those overseas and providing virtual private networks for businesses. Sentech’s long-term growth is dependent on its success in markets traditionally served by telecommunications companies. Whilst its core business remains broadcasting signal networks, the broadband business is envisaged as a major element of the product mix in future.
